Connecting real glasses to mean-field models

We propose a novel model for glass-forming liquid, which allows us to switch in continuous manner from standard three-dimensional liquid fully connected mean-field model. This is achieved by introducing k additional particle–particle interactions, thus augments the effective number of neighbors each particle. Our computer simulations this system show that structure does not change with introduction these pseudo-neighbors and means analytical calculations, we determine structural properties related neighbors. relaxation dynamics slows down very quickly increase onset mode-coupling temperatures increase. The systems high values follow theory power law behavior larger temperature range compared ones lower k. dynamic susceptibility indicates heterogeneity decreases k, whereas non-Gaussian parameter independent it. Thus, conclude pseudo-neighbors, becomes more mean-field-like. By comparing our results previous studies on mean-field-like systems, come conclusion details how limit approached are important since they can lead different dynamical limit.
